Well, I figured I should post one last time, just to put a proper ending to the "Price Is Right" Grand Adventure. The check from CBS finally came yesterday. They took out a few hundred dollars in California state taxes, so the final amount was $2,216.63.
A good chunk of that will pay for the trip to Vegas that Terry and I took recently -- yes, we had a great time, thanks for asking -- while the rest is being used to buy a tenor saxophone off of eBay and a piece of exercise equipment for Terry and me (which will come in handy on those days when the weather makes it tough for me to get outside and run). All in all, I'd say Bob's mistake was pretty lucrative.
Anyway, I'm not sure anyone even checks this blog anymore. But in case someone does happen to show up, thanks for reading and sharing this experience with us. Many people have asked what the next game show will be for me, and the answer is: I don't know.
I have a feeling I have one more TV appearance in me, but I have to wait at least a year before I even try again (most game shows want to make sure you haven't appeared on another game/reality show in the past 12 months). Jeopardy? Wheel of Fortune? Deal or No Deal? I would have to beat long odds to be selected as a TV game show contestant a third time, but I guess the real fun is in the attempt. We'll see...

HA....I'm still reading! I check your blog first thing in the morning just to see what fun tidbit you might be offering to share with your devoted fans. Sounds like the TPIR Grand Adventure is finally winding down. Thanks for sharing your experience with all of us! Can't wait for the next one.
ReplyDeleteActually haven't you been on 3 game shows already....something when you were in high school, perhaps? For the life of me I can't.....oh wait, was it Academic Challenge?
ReplyDeleteWell, if you want to count a local high school quiz show, then yeah, we can up that number to 3. (Actually we can put it at 4, since we also made it onto WERE's "Whiz Quiz" show my senior year...It just that there's a little difference between playing for a new car and playing for the right to say I thought of the capital of Iceland faster than the freshman from the private school across town).
